Lying, cheats...

We paid £379.93 for 6 nights stay. There was existing damage at the property when we arrived. We met Christelle on arrival. She showed us around the flat, however communication was difficult as neither she, nor we, spoke a common language. I am positive that she pointed to the damage when she showed us the bathroom. I took photos of the damage on the day we arrived, and sent them to the host during our stay. When Christelle returned on our checkout day I reminded her of the damage. I also pointed out a previous patch that was done to repair the same damage. I also pointed out another problem in the flat, by the fridge, of damage and dirt that was also done before we arrived. Again, however communication was difficult, what I understood of her response was "dont worry, the flat insurance will cover it". A week after we left they filed a claim against us with Airbnb, wanting 492 Euros to repair the damage in the bathroom wall (about 5 centimetres (2 inches) in diameter ), a hole that we didn't create!...and they used my photos that I sent them as evidence against us! Airbnb agreed with the host, and said that we had to pay 492 Euros!! @@@
